End-of-Year Agenda
By [Ankama]DOFUS-Touch - ANKAMA - September 18, 2023, 14:00:00The end of 2023 is fast approaching, with many surprises in store, although a few tweaks have been made to the original schedule. We'd like to offer a brief update on this latest development!
After the September update Group Attack, and in relation to what was announced in the January 2023 missive, this is supposed to be in the end-of-year update:
- the Astrub revamp
- a big update for PvP
- the Xelor class revamp
We won't beat around the bush: Completing these three major projects in a single update is not feasible for various reasons.
The initial plan was to release the Astrub revamp earlier in 2023, but we have unfortunately fallen behind. This is mainly due to a major issue with the tool we use to work on maps in the game, as well as properly place NPCs, paddocks, houses, and many other things. Needless to say, for revamping a zone of this size, this was not ideal!
We therefore made the decision to push back the Astrub revamp to 2024 and keep Xelors and PvP in the late 2023 update.
This will be at the cost of accommodating new players in the game, but we believe it's just as important to consider our current and veteran players, whose expectations are much higher for Xelors and PvP than for Astrub.
Between this big update, Abyss Joust #3, Al Howin, Kwismas, and a few other surprises, the end of this year will be quite eventful, so you won't get bored easily!
To tide you over, here are a few images (subject to change before the update) of our work on Astrub, including a few maps you'll definitely recognize:
A few ideas I've had:
- Allowing only one fight per map to prevent ganging up and create fair 4v4s.
- Get rid of time limits until an objective is accomplished, such as clearing out a certain number of players.
- Instead of having the entire alliance have to show up, there could be some sort of sign-up where only a certain amount of people can AvA at a time, preventing unfair overpopulation.
- In regards to the sign-up, you could have guild leaders appoint who participates per AvA. This is similar to Clash of Clans choosing players for Clan Wars based on who toggles that they would like to join.
- You could also have it so that someone can only be ambushed by one extra player. So if it's a 1v1, they should be able to be hit 2v1 and another player can't join the team with 2 until another player joins the other side to make it 2v2. The team that is at a disadvantage could get an NPC like a guard from Bonta to fight with them, maybe controlled by the group leader.
Those are my ideas, you don't have to accept all of them but some of them at least. I hope you found this helpful and I wish you the best with the PvP revamp.
